Emission schedule

Projection over 30 protocol years from genesis. The cyan curve accumulates the PMN planned in the initial schedule. The dotted line adds the tail emission after the schedule is exhausted.

Projection of the PMN emission schedule Half of the schedule is reached around year 4. The floor takes over around year 16.5. The schedule is exhausted around year 22.2, and the tail emission is added afterwards. 0510152025051015202530Millions of PMNProtocol years

Floor at about 16.5 years. Tail emission from about 22.2 years, at the nominal rate of 210,000 PMN per protocol year.

Rounded projection based on the decay rate and the floor of 0.2.52. One protocol year represents 315,576,000 emission slots. Actual dates depend on the network’s pace. The projection assumes full-factor rewards and excludes the burn. The observed outstanding supply is shown at the top of the page.

A decreasing emission, computed in integers

At each slot, the protocol computes a fraction of the remaining amount. All calculations are done in atoms, with no floating-point number and no implicit rounding. The first full-factor emission is worth 0.011531367 PMN.

Decaying schedule term = floor((remainder × 549112718 + carry) / 10¹⁸)

The schedule also has an emission floor and ends when its balance is exhausted. Tail emission is counted separately. The reward factor, between 0 and 1,000,000 ppm, determines the share actually created. Any difference becomes forfeitedAtoms. The carry preserves fractions of an atom between slots.

Split and maturity

The reward earned is divided into two UTXOs: 90% for the miner and 10% for the treasury, with the integer remainder going to the miner. These outputs are locked until canonical creation DAA + 10,000.

Fees and first-spend tax

0.2.52 RC2 applies monetary policy 3.1 (monetary version 4) on the new V5 genesis, just as 0.2.51 does on its V4 genesis. Transfers pay network fees computed from a base rate adjusted over windows of 661 DAA. The base rate per cost unit lies between 0.000100000 and 0.010000000 PMN. Miner authorizations are exempt.

On the first spend of a miner reward output, the tax starts at 15% and decreases linearly to zero after 77,760,000 DAA from its canonical creation. The result is rounded down to the atom for each output consumed. It applies to the whole output, including in a consolidation or a transfer to oneself. Treasury rewards are exempt.

Supply accounting

outstanding + total burned = schedule emission + tail emission
schedule emission + remaining schedule + forfeited amount = 21,000,000 PMN

Fees and tax feed the same burn counter. Destroying atoms does not replenish the schedule.
